A Bit About Me
A former professional volleyball player and student-athlete for the University of Kentucky, Nicole Britenriker has served in various roles across the professional and collegiate sports landscape including sponsorships, sales, corporate partnership development, ticketing and currently, talent acquisition and talent management with an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Nicole, founder of People Capital Co., LLC, supports organizations seeking to inclusively maximize the potential of their human capital, and creates opportunities for underrepresented professionals in and
out of the workplace. Most recently serving as a Senior Team Talent Advisor with the National Basketball Association (NBA), Nicole provided human resources and talent acquisition support to NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, and NBA 2K League teams. As part of her responsibilities, Nicole drives
significant impact across the NBA family in the areas of acquisition, retention and development, partnering with teams to build inclusive and diverse workplaces. Utilizing data assessment, she consults teams on people initiative best practices, helps evolve current talent-related programs, supports executive search needs, advises on performance management standard methodologies among other consultative support.
Nicole joined the NBA from Learfield, a company that manages multimedia rights and sponsorship initiatives for more than 200 collegiate properties nationwide, where she most held a position a talent acquisition manager. In this role, she maintained the organization’s pursuit of quality candidates to join the property portfolio in the sales field and other affiliated companies across the country. While serving in this capacity she was selected by executive leadership to serve as lead and major contributor on diversity, equity and inclusion-based culture changes. Initially joining Learfield in 2014
as a manager of business development to expand corporate partnerships on behalf of the University of Kentucky’s Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., she has also worked on Learfield’s national sales team, overseeing the engagement and sponsorship activation elements for numerous blue-chip companies investing in collegiate sports nationwide.
Prior to Learfield, Nicole worked with the Cincinnati Bengals for three years serving in ticket sales and premium seating roles where she generated $3MM in ticket revenue for the organization.
An advocate for diverse and inclusive sports organizations, she presently serves as the Vice President for the Black Sports Professionals National Office. She has served on the National Sports Forum’s Business of Diversity in Sports and Entertainment (BDSE) Committee and been involved with Special Olympics Texas (SOTX). Nicole is actively a Board Council Member for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and enjoys giving back by mentoring future leaders of the sports industry.
